YMCA Wanakita is located on the beautiful shores of Koshlong Lake in the Haliburton Highlands. As a year-round Camp and Outdoor Education Centre, YMCA Wanakita offers campers, students, families, individuals, business groups, environmentalists and many others, facilities for all seasons to learn and grow.

Feeling secure, safe, healthy and comfortable in your surroundings and around the people you're with are essential elements for a memorable experience. We do everything possible to ensure this occurs. We emphasize that wellness is about taking care of yourself while looking out for others. Staff are certified and trained in administering first aid, in all seasons and conditions.

Wanakita is located only 10 kilometers away from the Haliburton Hospital, open 24 hours a day for any serious illness or injury.

During our summer months, we have certified nurses/doctors and other professional health support staff available 24 hours a day to meet the needs of all campers and staff.

Wanakita operates a year-round camp store (Tuck Shop) that sells a variety of items. We have everything from Wanakita custom clothing, souvenirs, toiletries, munchies, pop/juice to other staples depending on the season, such as sunscreen, mosquito repellent, batteries, film, seed beads, etc... Keep this in mind when planning for your experience.
